Internet capacity for meat exporter John Dee Export, Warwick’s major employer, is being beefed up through backhaul provider QCN Fibre.
John Dee will access high-speed commercial-grade internet, opening up international growth opportunities from online technologies.
QCN Fibre was set up to boost regional business development, by working with telecommunications carriers and internet service providers to connect underused parts of the Government-owned network.
The Queensland Government is making available more than 10,000km of optical fibre throughout the state to provide better internet for regional Queensland.
QCN Fibre’s competitive prices are expected to attract new internet service providers, and enable existing providers to buy more capacity. This should reduce congestion at peak times and provide better internet speeds in the regions.
With more people now working from home and communicating online due to impacts of COVID-19, improving regional capacity is imperative.
