A new player in the telecommunications market improving connectivity for regional Queensland communities

QCN Fibre is a new government owned telecommunications company, jointly owned by Powerlink Queensland and Energy Queensland.

Our mission is to improve regional connectivity through leveraging spare capacity in government owned fibre networks.

QCN stands for Queensland Capacity Network, reflecting the increased data capacity we will unlock for Queenslanders.

We will utilise 6,000 kilometres of optical fibre network from Toowoomba to Cairns, supplying a high capacity wholesale service to telecommunication service providers who use large volumes of voice, data and video traffic.

Our operations will contribute to improved regional connectivity through increasing competition in the backhaul market, with the aim of supporting new investment and jobs in regional Queensland.
